Grooved Cement- Coated Underfloor Heating Xps Board 600x1200x20mm for 16mm pipe
A pre-routed, cement-coated XPS panel specifically designed for use with water-based underfloor heating systems. Constructed from high-density XPS (300 kPa), these panels are thermally insulating, lightweight, waterproof, and feature a reinforced cement coating for added durability. They provide a convenient and efficient solution for laying pipework in both domestic and commercial underfloor heating applications.
The reinforced cement surface is robust and suitable for direct bonding of tiles. With additional preparation, the panels can also accommodate various finishes, including engineered wood, carpet, vinyl, and more.
These panels are ideal for installation on solid subfloors such as concrete, screed, and asphalt, as well as on suspended timber floors fitted with suitable floorboards like tongue-and-groove or chipboard planking. They are easy to cut, install, and should be laid with staggered joints in a brick-bond pattern.
The routed channels are compatible with most flexible low-pressure underfloor heating pipes. Designed for use over existing floors, the panels offer a low-height build-up while delivering an insulated flooring solution.
INSTALLATION
These Cement Boards are designed for quick and efficient installation over flat, level subfloors. They can also be used on a variety of other substrates, provided the surface is fully supported. Where necessary, a damp-proof membrane (DPM) should be applied before installation.
INSTALLATION ON TIMBER BASE
When installing over timber surfaces, the panels must be secured with mechanical fixings and washers. The fixings should be of an appropriate length for the specific application to ensure stability.
INSTALLATION ON CONCRETE BASE
For installations directly onto concrete, the boards should be adhered using a layer of combed tile adhesive (S1 or equivalent). Depending on the substrate, additional mechanical fixings may be required to secure the boards in place.
FINISHING
In most cases, flooring can be laid directly on the Cement Board's surface without the need for an additional board.
- Wood Flooring: Install with a suitable underlay, following the manufacturer’s guidelines.
- Tiling: Flooring-grade tiles can be applied using a combed layer of suitable tile adhesive.
- Other Finishes: For finishes like carpet or vinyl, a separating layer of Construction Board may be needed before proceeding.
SUITABLE FOR
These Cement Boards are ideal for both new construction and retrofit installations, offering versatility across various applications.
